"My Day in Court"
Judge Judy sentences Alex to community service even though she hates "drunk driving". What do you think should happen to "good" kids when they make a big mistake and don't feel badly about what they did? How do you feel about Alex's sentence?

I think to an extent they should get the same treatment as "bad" kids do when they make big mistakes and dont feel badly about it,however i can see why they would get special treatment from a judge.
I think that Alex should be a little worried about what he did because he thinks tht is no big deal. the reason he thinks its no big deal is because all he did is run over a garden gnome. I think the reason the judge went easy was because he hasn't been in trouble with the law until that faithful night. I also think that his ruling was perfectly fine because it is only his offense.
Personally, I think that kids who make big mistakes and don't feel bad about it are not "good" kids. Drunk driving is a big deal, and I belive that Alex, especially given the fact that he is 16, should be worrying less about what a pain it will be to work at a boring old nursing home, and more worried about gaining a criminal record. Also, I think he should feell at least some remorse for being drunk while being interrogated by a policeman after getting arrested!! (this is all just me personally, because I'd probably die of fear if I was sent to cout, let alone being arrested!!).
I think Alex's punshment is a good way to teach Alex a lesson that drunk driving is very bad. its a very bad way is tell his parents, he does not like his dad shacking up with his thrid grade teacher.
I think that alex probably would have gotten off with a less sever penalty if he would have not made the comments he did. Its not like he knew the judge was behind him but still he should be more cautious. It also depends on what kind of crime the "good" kids commit, and don't feel guilty about, that affects what sentence they receive. So i think Alex's punishment is fair.
